🚨 LAW ENFORCEMENT ALERT

Deputies with the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office are actively searching for an armed and dangerous suspect after shots were fired near the sugar factory. A vehicle pursuit ended in a crash near the stockyard, and the suspect fled on foot. Multiple agencies, including Twin Falls Police and Idaho State Police, are on scene. Residents are being urged to shelter in place and call 911 with any information.


🏛 STATE CAPITOL DISTURBANCE

Friday afternoon in Boise, Idaho State Police responded to a disturbance at the Capitol where about a dozen protesters disrupted operations and blocked a restroom. Six individuals were arrested for trespassing, with two also facing charges for resisting arrest. One person sustained minor injuries, and authorities confirmed no weapons were involved.


🚨 BREAKING – POWER COUNTY SHOOTING

Breaking news out of north Power County—three people, including the suspect, are dead following a shooting on Tank Farm Road near Pocatello. Two additional individuals were injured. Authorities say the scene is secure and there is no ongoing threat, with more details expected as the investigation continues.


💻 TAX SEASON HELP

Most Idaho residents can file their taxes online for free ahead of the April 15 deadline, according to the Idaho State Tax Commission. Those earning under $89,000 may qualify for free e-filing, with additional in-person assistance available for lower-income individuals and seniors.


📚 EDUCATION POLICY

A bill that would limit taxpayer funding for teacher union activities is now awaiting action from Governor Brad Little. Supporters argue it keeps teachers focused on classrooms, while the Idaho Education Association calls it an attack on educators. If signed, the law would take effect July first.


🚓 CALDWELL INCIDENT

A 21-year-old, Elijah Zufelt, is in custody after a violent family dispute in Caldwell escalated into multiple crashes and a brief police chase. Authorities say he rammed several vehicles and nearly struck family members before surrendering. He now faces multiple felony charges.

⚾ BASEBALL RECAP

It was a busy weekend on the diamond. Burley fell to Pocatello 4 to 3 and heads to Minico Tuesday. At the Mid-Season Classic, Filer dominated Snake River 10 to 1 and edged Teton 6 to 5. Kimberly had a strong run, beating Snake River 15 to 4, Teton 7 to 5, and South Fremont 10 to 9.

Buhl picked up wins over Snake River 7 to 6 and Bear Lake 12 to 2 but fell earlier to South Fremont 6 to 3. Declo defeated American Falls 7 to 2 and Lighthouse Christian 14 to 2. Twin Falls topped Minico 11 to 3, Wendell edged Firth 7 to 6, and Wood River split games, including an 11 to 9 win over Snake River.


🥎 SOFTBALL RECAP

Burley fell to Pocatello 14 to 2 and will host Twin Falls Thursday. Kimberly dominated the Lady Dawg Classic with wins over Sugar-Salem, South Fremont, North Fremont, and Wood River. Wendell shut out Filer 8 to 0 and beat Melba 17 to 3. Twin Falls split with Rocky Mountain, winning 9 to 8 before falling 11 to 2. Declo, Buhl, and Wood River all competed in a tough tournament slate.


📅 TODAY’S MATCHUPS

On the baseball schedule, Lighthouse Christian, 7 and 1, travels to Wendell, 7 and 5, for a 4 o’clock first pitch. At 6 o’clock, Twin Falls, 10 and 3, hits the road to face Minico, 8 and 7 in conference play.

On the softball side, Wendell, 9 and 2, travels to Glenns Ferry, 4 and 1, for a 4:30 matchup.


🦅 CSI ATHLETICS

The College of Southern Idaho softball team took its Scenic West series over North Idaho, winning 8 to 6 and 16 to 3. CSI racked up 28 hits and played error-free defense. Rilyne Keck homered, Alyce Archuleta drove in three, and game two featured home runs from Anslie Yazzie and Maile Ha’o. CSI is now 22 and 9 overall and heads to 13th-ranked Salt Lake.

CSI baseball also picked up a key 9 to 3 win over Salt Lake, maintaining a two-game conference lead. Trey Purser led the charge with two home runs and five RBI, while Jackson Gardner earned the win. CSI now stands at 33 and 8 overall.


🕊 SPORTS LOSS

Former Boise State standout Jeremy Ioane has passed away after battling kidney disease during his career. He earned all-conference honors. No official cause of death has been announced.
