Jerome Police are investigating a late-night stabbing on North Date Street. Several people were detained, and one person was taken away in a police vehicle. - Triple Homicide Arrest
A man is in custody after a triple homicide investigation in Cassia and Minidoka counties. One victim was found dead in Rupert, leading to a second crime scene response in Burley. He was arrested in Lincoln County after a traffic stop. Authorities responded to 1024 F Street at 3:20 p.m. to find a woman on the floor, cold to the touch. - Cassia County Motorcycle Fatality
Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash on Highway 25 in Cassia County. A juvenile from Rupert died after failing to navigate a curve early Monday. - DUI Manslaughter Charges in Jerome Crash
Jonathan Villagomez is facing DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges after a crash north of Jerome killed 41-year-old Jesica Inga Inga and infant Jamilette De La Cruz Inga. His bond is set at $1 million. - Twin Falls Felony Assault
Tanner Huse, a 26-year-old from Twin Falls, faces felony assault and firearm charges for allegedly threatening to kill a woman and assaulting another. A bullet casing was found at the scene. His bond is $100,000. - Child Exploitation Charges
21-year-old Clayton Palmer of Twin Falls is charged with possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material. Police say some images involved children as young as two. His bond is set at $1 million.

Former Hagerman Superintendent Jim Brown has filed a tort claim seeking over $1 million in damages after being reprimanded for showering at school. Brown says he did not violate any policy and was unfairly targeted.

- Driest Water Year on Record
Idaho’s once-promising water year is now among the driest on record. Hydrologists report only 56% of normal precipitation from April to June, with Snake River shortages anticipated by late summer.
University of Idaho Murder Case
- Goncalves Family to Return Funds
The family of Kaylee Goncalves plans to return thousands of dollars raised on GoFundMe after her 2022 murder. Bryan Kohberger pleaded guilty to killing Goncalves and three other students, avoiding the death penalty.

- Supreme Court & Transgender Athlete Ban
The U.S. Supreme Court will review Idaho’s 2020 law banning transgender athletes from girls’ and women’s sports. Idaho was the first of 27 states with such a law. A ruling is expected in 2026. - Kimberly High Gym Makeover

Boise State Athletics raised a record $27.2 million in FY2025—up 14% from last year. It’s their fourth straight year over $20 million, helping scholarships and facilities. The department also tied its GPA record of 3.46.
American Legion Baseball
- Filer Cats Split Doubleheader
The Filer Cats A took Game 1 against Idaho Falls Bees A, 8-2. Wyatt Blass went 3-for-4, and Brett Paxton had two RBIs and struck out seven. Drayson Smith added a 2-for-2 day with an RBI.
In Game 2, the Bees responded with a 10-5 win. Filer tied it in the fourth, but Idaho Falls surged with four runs in the seventh. Blass went 3-for-3, Aydyn Burns had two hits, and Carsten Eskelsen added two RBIs.
Filer is now 10-12 and heads to Elmore County Royals on Friday for a 5 and 7 p.m. doubleheader. - Twin Falls Hawks Sweep Jerome
The Hawks won Game 1, 10-0, behind Grant Hales’ four shutout innings with five strikeouts.
In Game 2, Christian Waitley threw a no-hitter, walking six and striking out four. He also went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Bo Stringer drove in three.
The Hawks are now 12-2 and visit Burley Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m.
