⚠ I-84 Westbound Ramp Work
Expect brief delays on the I-84 westbound on-ramp at Exit 173, the Twin Falls Interchange tomorrow. Crews will be flagging traffic from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for electrical work and ramp grading. Work is weather-dependent and may be delayed if conditions change.


🚔 CRIME & SAFETY

🚗 Fatal Pedestrian Crash
Police say 68-year-old Gary Strolberg was killed Friday night after being hit by a pickup on Addison Avenue East. He was taken to St. Luke’s Magic Valley, where he later died.

⚖ Kimberly Manslaughter Case
Daniel Wise pleaded not guilty Monday to manslaughter and other charges in the June shooting death of Chris Dequintanaroo in Kimberly. Wise’s trial is set for March 10.

🚨 FBI RAID IN WILDER
Federal, state, and local officers raided La Catedral Arena in Wilder Sunday, uncovering an alleged illegal horse-racing gambling ring tied to Ivan Tellez and others. The FBI says the probe began months ago, and one suspect, Cesar Orozco, was arrested yesterday. Witnesses say hundreds, including children, were detained during the raid.

💰 Gas Prices Continue to Drop
AAA says the average price for regular gas in Idaho is now $3.44 a gallon—down two cents from last week and nine cents from last month. Idaho ranks seventh-highest nationwide; California leads at $4.64.

✈ Qatari Training at Mountain Home AFB
Idaho leaders say they were caught off guard by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s announcement to train Qatari Air Force personnel at Mountain Home Air Force Base. Governor Brad Little and Idaho’s congressional delegation have asked Hegseth for a full briefing, citing cost and security concerns tied to the agreement.

📚 Blaine County School Levy Vote
Voters in Blaine County School District will decide on a $3.85 million per year supplemental levy on Tuesday, November 4. Funds would support special education, all-day kindergarten, preschool, summer school, and school safety.
The estimated cost is about $16.33 per $100,000 of taxable value.

❄ La Niña Returns
A weak La Niña has developed in the Pacific, setting the stage for a colder, snowier winter across southern Idaho. Forecasters say the jet stream could dip south more often, bringing more storms and Arctic air to the region.

It’s championship week for Idaho high school soccer! Six area boys’ teams and eight girls’ teams from around the Magic Valley are headed to the Boise area for the 6A, 5A, and 4A state tournaments starting Thursday through Saturday.

  • Boys 6A: Canyon Ridge vs. Thunder Ridge (Thu, 3 PM, Eagle High)
  • 5A: Twin Falls vs. Blackfoot (11 AM), Skyline vs. Sandpoint (1 PM), Pocatello vs. Vallivue (9 AM) — all at Columbia High

🏐 District Volleyball Action
The Twin Falls Bruins pulled off a big win in the 5A district volleyball tournament, outlasting Minico three sets to two. Twin Falls jumped out early behind Millie Western’s strong play at the net, but Minico battled back before the Bruins sealed it late to face Wood River next.

🏈 Remembering Doug Martin
Former NFL running back and Boise State star Doug Martin has died at age 36. Police in Oakland say Martin became unresponsive after being taken into custody early Saturday during a break-in investigation. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Martin was a first-round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012, twice made the Pro Bowl, and was named All-Pro in 2015. His family says he had been struggling with mental-health challenges.


🏈 Boise State Football
Boise State’s home game against Fresno State on November 1st will kick off at 1:30 p.m. on FS1.
It’s the Broncos’ fifth FS1 appearance this season—they’ve won nine straight on the network and 16 in a row at home, tied with Alabama for the nation’s longest home streak.

Dylan Riley was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for a career-high 201 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos’ 56–31 win over UNLV.
