Erika Brock was sentenced for grand theft Monday after a plea deal in a case linked to the 2023 murder of William Eakin. While not involved in the killing, Brock stole from Eakin’s property with the accused murderer, Kevin Kuintzle. She received probation, mental health court, and additional jail time.

Jerome’s Emma Allen had a career night, scoring 23 points to lead the Tigers past Twin Falls, 49-38. Freshman Sawyer Garrard added 15 in the win. Jerome now faces Emmett in a state play-in game tomorrow at Mountain Home.

In 1A girls’ basketball, Carey topped Richfield 41-24 to advance to a state play-in game. Richfield’s season comes to an end.
CSI Softball Splits at Paradise Cove Tournament
The eighth-ranked CSI softball team split its first two games at the Paradise Cove Tournament. The Golden Eagles defeated Spoon River 7-3 but fell to No. 7 Florida Southwestern 8-1. Freshman Alyce Archuleta stood out, hitting a home run in game one and an RBI double in game two. CSI faces Florida Southwestern again this morning, followed by Miami-Dade.
Boise State Women’s Basketball Falls in OT
Boise State women’s basketball lost a heartbreaker to New Mexico, 88-83, in overtime yesterday. Abby Muse led the Broncos with 18 points, while walk-on Josee Steadman had a season-high 17 off the bench. Boise State returns home to face Fresno State Saturday at 1 p.m.
Idaho State Men’s Basketball Falls Short Against Montana
Idaho State men’s basketball fought hard but fell short in Missoula, losing to Montana 81-68 last night. After trailing by as many as 13 points, the Bengals made a strong push, cutting the deficit to just two, but couldn’t complete the comeback. Idaho State is now 11-12 overall and 6-6 in Big Sky play.
Dylan Darling’s Career Night Not Enough for Idaho State
Dylan Darling and Isaiah Griffin put up big numbers in Idaho State’s 81-68 loss to Montana, combining for 54 points, but it wasn’t enough. Darling scored a career-high 33 points, and Griffin added 21. The Bengals struggled with shooting, hitting just 34.8% from the field and 22.7% from beyond the arc. Next up, Idaho State faces Montana State tomorrow at 6 p.m. in Bozeman.
